Mainland: we can talk about writing system

The mainland makes a non-committal but favorable response to the now retracted call in Taiwan to come to a writing system consensus on both sides of the strait.

Hmm.. this should be interesting. Taiwanese people take such pride in the complex but more beautiful traditional writing system. I wonder if this will wake up the KMT-following Taiwanese citizens.
