Green camp surrounds legislature

Despite Diane Lee's resignation, a number of green-leaning civic organizations and DPP organizers are peacefully laying siege to the legislature today in a protest to express their disapproval of the legislature's slow handling of the situation, to call for Diane Lee to be formally stripped of her position by the legislature, and to call on other suspected duel-nationality blue legislators to resign.

I think the DPP isn't helping itself with this protest; I don't see what is being called for anymore now that Diane's resignation deflated this issue. On the other hand, she probably wouldn't have resigned without the pressure the protest planning was bringing to bear.

In my opinion, Diane Lee should have been sacked and prosecuted for the fraud she committed for the past 14 years and the KMT stalling for 302 days on this matter. Resigning from her position is hardly the point and not enough.

Besides, she should return the salary she received for the past 14 years.

As you said in your first paragraph, it isn't just the DPP that is protesting. Diane Lee has cried "wolf" so many times, I don't know why anyone should expect this time to be any different.

I can understand why the protest would go on as planned. The matter is not resolved. Diane Lee has resigned, yet her sheepish yet self-righteous responses up until now show that the controversy still continues. Moreover, the KMT has been dragging its feet on recognising the issue and seems to have done what it can to stall events and buy time. The whole matter should be protested whether or not Diane Lee is still a legislator.

I think that it is important for those in power to see that public opinion can't be turned on and off with safety valve measures, such as a timely resignation thrown like a bone to the masses.

If the protest escalates, then the DPP will have a problem.

Seem very naive that DPP is doing a great favor to Taiwan, for protesting and demo against Diane Lee's dual citizens. The reality is that there is nothing much on KMT that DPP can find fault of, after being elected as the ruling party. That's the main reason they (DPP)are making a big fuss out of nothing.

Another childish act from DPP. Not surprised, not surprised.

The Diane Lee thing should have been a very cut and dry thing for the KMT, yet by dragging the whole thing out they are simply showing again how much esteem they hold the law in, even as they demand that others follow it.

Not much on the KMT to find fault on? That explains why Ma's approval rating is close to 25% after barely half a year...
