Prosecutors: jail Wang Ting-yu for 1 year, 2 months
Wow. For a shove. Now I have seen video from many angles, and while I think it appears Zhang was pushed, I really don't think Wang did so, because his head is turned away at the critical moment.

I bet the jail term has been calculated to prevent him running for Tainan Mayor. White Terror 2.0 has begun...
I don't like using White Terror yet -- I don't think it's that bad yet -- but it is possible they're trying to keep him out of any mayoral bid.
I'm not sure if this guy is mayoral material, though. He'll do fine on city council but I am not sure if he could move up easily anyway. Maybe he could be a legislator.
no matter what, i think wang ding yu showed great courage in standing up for taiwan. the fact that it took the courts less than a week to indict him shows they're out to get him. i mean the guy that kicked a-bian only spent three days in jail and that was it. one year and two months in jail because a chinese man fell over in taiwan is completely unacceptable.
